HOW IT GOT STARTED
The Roots
What is it that fuels each and every one of us in this world? For me, it is the ocean.

Growing up with my Grandfather and Dad going away to sea, I was quick to experience life of missing a family member.
​
Completing work experience with on the tugs in 2017 was the beginning of my passion and love for the sea. It was here that I first lived out the duties required of a seafarer and loved every minute of it. After completing work experience, I worked casually at a cafe while completing my high school in exams.

In 2018, I became a deckhand and started working on small charter yachts and tugs around Sydney Harbour. This time onboard vessels allowed me to deepen my relationship with the life at sea and enjoy the environment on a seagoing vessel.
When I started year 12, it became apparent to me that my dream career would be to become a Marine Pilot. An offer to accompany Pilots on inter port moves in Port Botany saw me become deeply hooked on the large vessels.

And here I am today. Working as a deck officer cadet onboard ships.
